North County Group provided comments to strengthen the San Marcos Draft Environmental Justice Element. The letter is here NCG encouraged the city to establish science and health-based buffer zones between freeways and other known and significant pollution sources and housing. Further, NCG recommended that recommendations from the excellent document released by the California Environmental Justice Alliance (CEJA) titled, Environmental and Housing Justice Policy Platform. The Policy Platform has many relevant policy recommendations that are applicable to San Marcos and other cities in our area.

How about adding sections for preservation and conservation of open spaces. Not converting them into parks or trails but keeping them in natural state. Stop building and create reserves, keep them closed and off limits from builders, developers, and bikers.
