Sierra Club North County Group encourages everyone to come speak at the Escondido City Council meeting at 5pm on Wed., March 22.
We encourage you to support the following action items from the Council. The annual report on the implementation of the Escondido Climate Action Plan (ECAP) reveals that we are far behind in important actions needed for implementation of the plan.
Please urge the Council to direct staff to focus on three areas of action and any others you care about:
- Apply for grants to develop an Urban Forest Plan for heat-vulnerable areas in Escondido (page 87 of link below).
- Create the promised climate advisory group where the public can work with staff to engage and help implement the ECAP (page 76 of link below).
- Make progress on the New Zero Waste Ordinance (page 86 of link below).
