This survey is a great opportunity to let the Council know what you think. Here are just a few ideas that NCG, allies, and others have raised with the city include the following:
- Strong opposition to sprawl development and Harvest Hills
- Support transit-oriented development and more transit in and around the city
- Request for rapid implementation of the city’s Climate Action Plan
- Fast-track tree planting especially in ‘heat-island’ areas to reduce heat impacts using native species or edible fruit trees
- Single use plastics phase out and ban
- Support restoration of Escondido Creek as a natural resource and improvement in local residents quality of life
- Facilitation and support residents to grown their own food for families and others and address food insecurity
- More support for management and protection of Daley Ranch open space preserve
- Strong support for recreation, parks, and urban greening
- Phased plan for energy efficiency and electrification retrofits of private and public sector buildings
- Focus and action on affordable and moderate cost housing
- Promotion of good-paying, green jobs
- Create employment opportunities for youth
- Strong environmental health and justice actions
- Adopt policies to support more planting of native plants
- Support wildlife habitat and corridor protection in and around the city
