Escondido to Meet on Climate Plan, Wed. Jan 16th, 4:30

Escondido will have its first meeting with new leadership on the Climate issue on January 16th.  Please come and share your thoughts with the Mayor and Council. Sierra Club is hopeful that there will be a sea change in Escondido and that the serious issue of climate change may finally be addressed.

Please come and let the Council know you support strong action, 100% clean energy, transit, smart land-use planning, and social equity in the Plan.

Sierra Club will be commenting in support of:

• 100% Clean Energy Goal
• Focus on building retrofits, Net Zero, and electrification of new construction
• Support of Social Equity and Job Creation as important criteria
• Need to stop out-of-area mitigation and sprawl development land use patterns
• Need for an Adaptation Plan and community engagement in oversight.
