WBC Pre-Conditioning Hike (Clevenger Canyon South)

Clevenger Canyon South
Difficulty: M5B (moderate hike, 5 miles, 1000 ft elevation change)
Description: This moderate paced day hike will explore trails that are normally off limits during hot Escondido summers. While less strenuous than the Clevenger north trails, we’ll still climb nearly 1000 ft over 2 ½ miles to a great valley viewpoint, have a snack and then return to our cars at the trailhead. Hike is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours long.
Where: From San Pascual High school, Bear Valley Pkwy North, Hwy 78 east past the Safari Park Trail head is 5 ½ miles beyond the park entrance, Look for us on the right (south) side of the road Drive time is 15 mins from SPHS
What to bring:
• 2 quarts water
• Snacks
• Layered clothes appropriate for the weather
• Boots or sturdy shoes
• Hat & sunscreen
• Daypack
