Chapter Outing Leader Training – April 9-10

Attention WBC Students & Alumni!  Are you looking for a way to stay involved past the WBC class?  

Here’s your opportunity to become a Chapter Outing Leader (COL) and begin leading trips for the Sierra Club and next year’s WBC.  Send Cheryl Knapp (cvknapp1950@gmail.com) your e-mail and she will send you the assignment for the two day backpack training weekend. The training this year will be held April 9-10.

To become a WBC North County Chapter Outing Leader you must:

• Be a Sierra Club member
• At least 18 years of age
• A Wilderness Basics Course (WBC) graduate
• Turn in assignment prior to the training weekend

After the training:

• Plan, publish and execute 2 evaluation outings
• Obtain a Red Cross Standard First Aid card or equivalent prior to evaluation outings

Class size is limited to 10.  Priority for this training will be given to North County participants.
