WBC Pre-Conditioning Hike (Fry Koegel at Mt. Woodson)

Fry Koegel at Mt Woodson
Difficulty: M6C (moderate hike, 6 miles, 1,500 ft elevation change)

Description: Hike up Mt Woodson the backway via the scenic Fry Koegel trail. Starting from the CDF fire station on hwy 67, we’ll hike counter clockwise and slowly climb Mt Woodson the rarely used way. We’ll join the trial from Lake Poway and before reaching the antenna studded Woodson peak. After taking in the view and enjoying a snack, it’s a short 1 ½ miles down the asphalt road to our cars. Hike is approximately 4 hours long.
Where: 16211 Highway 67, Ramona 92065 I-15 south, Rancho Bernardo Rd east, Espola Rd south, Poway Rd east, Hwy 67 north Trailhead is on the left side, be careful if crossing the highway Drive time is 25 minutes from SPHS
What to bring:
• 2 quarts water
• Snacks and or lunch
• Layered clothes appropriate for the weather
• Boots or sturdy shoes
• Daypack with 10 essentials
