The city of Escondido has initiatied its process to update the Escondido Climate Action Plan.
There will be an important meeting July 30th from 6-8 PM at the Mitchell Room. Please attend if you can.
Here is Escondido’s Climate Action Plan Update E-Newsletter – July 12, 2018
Interested parties,
The City of Escondido is updating its Climate Action Plan (CAP), which will consist of strategies intended to guide efforts for reducing greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions. As part of the update process, the City created a e-newsletter to provide timely and informative news about the planning process so that residents, businesses, and community members would know more about project and how to be involved.
WHAT’S GOING ON RIGHT NOW
The CAP update process is underway. So that means that significant on-going outreach efforts are underway. Although the complete timeframe for the public involvement process will continue over the course of the entire work program schedule (i.e. between now and spring 2019), the first phase of outreach is one of the more critical components of the planning process because we need to establish overall plan direction on issues and opportunities and determine what changes are needed. The first phase of outreach primarily involves a public workshop on July 30, 2018 from 6 – 8 PM in the Mitchell Room at City Hall. Please refer to the following link for more information about the public workshop event.
Public participation and input is encouraged to ensure the CAP process reflects the needs of our residents, businesses, and other community members. If you are unable to attend this particular event, please contact City staff to set up your own meeting to provide feedback. More information about these optional outreach services is provided on the Project website.
