If you live in Escondido or Vista, it is important to get involved in Climate Planning. Your elected officials need to hear from you!
Please email your Mayor and City Council members and let them know you want them to adopt a Climate Action Plan that:
- Adopts a 100% clean energy goal. You can learn more about Sierra Club’s ‘Ready for 100’ campaign here.
- Significantly increases biking, walking, and mass transit options
- Rejects reliance on out-of-area mitigation for pseudo emissions reductions used by the County over which they were sued
- Strengthens the weaknesses in their first Climate Action Plans outlined in the Climate Action Campaign Report Card
- Addresses adaptation as part of the plan.
- Is transparent, enforceable and accountable to the public.
Ask to be added to their Interested Persons list so you can be notified of future meetings.
Only we can save the climate!

Gudrun Ulman says
We need regulations to clamp down on fireplace use. I love my neighbors, as soon as it rains smoke billows out of the chimney and they are not the only ones! Instead of enjoying for once clean air they pollute even more. Sometimes the air is so dirty because of the Del Dios and Freeway traffic and congestion caused by a new high school off Citracado in the morning and afternoons that we are virtual prisoners in our home. Also we need rules for use of outdoor cooking.
