Last Chance to Oppose Special Study for Harvest Hills

December 2, 2022 – By Phil Lauder Leave a Comment

There is one last chance to oppose designation of a Special Study Area for Harvest Hills by LAFCO on December 5. Sierra Club North County Group’s most recent letter is here.

A previous blog on this matter can be found here.

Please use the online comment form here. Scroll down and file a short comment to oppose agenda item 6a regarding the Proposed Sphere of Influence Updates on Escondido Region. Here is a sample comment:

Dear Commissioners:

I oppose the Escondido Special Study area, which would allow for early consideration, or “fast-tracking,” for Harvest Hills. This project has unprecedented fire hazard risks and endangers on-site and surrounding communities. It threatens a globally significant endangered species facility and major economic driver for our region, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Please remove the special designation for Harvest Hills.
